Technical Presentation: Emerging NDT Technologies for Pipeline Optimization
A highlight of the congress was a technical session delivered by Luis Velandia, titled:
“Emerging Technologies for NDT: New Technologies and Applications for the Optimization of Pipeline NDT.”
The presentation introduced several cutting-edge tools and methods:
CUPS PA-CAT for advanced crack detection and characterization
PLX Portable for mechanical property assessment directly in the field
FlexoForm elbow scanner for rapid inspections of elbows and complex geometries
Phased Array & TOFD crack sizing for high-accuracy defect evaluation
Luis emphasized how these solutions are elevating pipeline inspection standards by offering faster, more reliable, and more comprehensive data for integrity management.
